White-Face Locomotives

The search to improve visibility continued in 1989 when BN returned to its traditional colors of green-black-white, and adopted the now familiar large BN logo on green nose and white cab face. The final version was complete with a white stripe area applied to the frame below the cab and radiator areas. In 1989 this became the standard for repaints and new units. The 1990 order of SD60M’s 9200-9298 were the only class delivered in whiteface. Finally, in 1991 a two-inch wide white separator stripe was added to the long hood between the upper black and green.
