BN train 526 operated from Laurel to Alliance. It became train 594 Aug. 9, 1989.
Train 523 began May 17, 1988 and handled traffic for Crawford, Edgemont, Gillette, Sheridan, Laurel, and beyond. It became train 593 Aug. 9, 1989.

Burlington Northern Train symbol 77 North Zulch, TX
CB&Q train 75 became train 77 in late 1968. CB&Q train 77 retained
the same number after the merger. The schedule was changed in 1971
with 77 being combined with train 77 from Houston. The schedule was
changed in 1972-3 with the Lincoln section being changed to train 177.
Train 177 was deleted in 1974. In 1975 the schedule was changed with
77 terminating in Pasco. During the winter of 1980 the schedule was
changed with 77 terminating in Seattle and later the schedule was
changed to originate in Denver. Train 77 became the DPS and operated
via Gillette instead of Casper. Train DPS became train 297 on Jan. 1,
1985. 297 operated via Casper. Train 297 became train 597 June 1,
1986. In 1988, it handled traffic for Cheyenne, Wendover, Casper,
Greybull, Laurel, and beyond. In 1989 the schedule was changed to
terminate at Guernsey, WY.

CB&Q train 78 retained the same number after the merger. The schedule was changed in 1971 with 78 originating in Seattle and was split into two trains at Laurel. One section continued on to Kansas City on the old schedule and another 78 went to Houston. During 1972-3 the schedule was changed with the Kansas City section being renumbered to 178. Train 178 was deleted in 1974. Train 78 became the SPD in 1981-2 operating via Gillette instead of Casper. Train SPD operated from Laurel to Denver and became train 298 on Jan. 1, 1986. 298 operated via Casper. Train 298 became train 598 June 1, 1986. In 1988, it handled traffic for Frannie, Greybull, Casper, Wendover, Cheyenne, Denver, and beyond. In 1989 the schedule was changed to originate at Guernsey, WY.
