GN train 88 (Fruit Special) retained the same number after the merger, but the
schedule was revised and the train continued to Chicago. In 1968, it
handled general merchandise and connected with CB&Q train 82 at
Minneapolis Union Yard.

Train 90 began April 14, 1987 handling TOFC from SP train LABRF at Brooklyn Yard for South Seattle. It operated Wednesday through Sunday.

Burlington Northern train symbol 91 at Saginaw, TX and Palmer Lake
Train 91 began Sept. 3, 1985, operated via Denver and handled TOFC for Irving, Amarillo, Denver, Billings, Spokane, Portland, Everett, and Seattle. It would fill with Fort Worth traffic at Houston and set out the Portland TOFC at Spokane.

Train 92 began Sept. 3, 1985, operated via Denver and handled TOFC and autos for Spokane, Billings, Denver, Amarillo, Irving, and Houston. This was the longest scheduled train on the BN. The 2,722 mile trip took 116 hours and 30 minutes. This was just three miles longer than train 22's trip. Trains 91 and 92 were discontinued in 1994 when BN closed the intermodal terminal in Houston.
