FRIENDS OF THE |
This car was originally built by Pullman in 1951 for the GN's re-equipped "Empire Builder". In GN service it was known as the "Jefferson Pass" and numbered 1375. It was repainted shortly after the merger, and used on BN's "Empire Builder". With AMTRAK taking over all passenger trains in 1971, this car was held by BN and not offered into AMTRAK's 'fleet'. In 1973 it was transferred into it's Business Car fleet, still named "Jefferson Pass". This car is currently in service in BNSF's fleet of black and cream painted colors, soon to be painted silver.
