FRIENDS OF THE |
This 60 seat coach started out as an AC&F product for the GN's 1951 "International" train, where it continued throughout it's life. Upon the merger, BN (and Amtrak) did not continue running the "International", and this car like many others, became surplus. After sitting around for awhile waiting to be used, it was given, and used, a MofW number, 968078 in 1973. Even though it had a MofW number, it was used in certain 'special' passenger trains. These were usually trains ran by certain divisions for Boy Scout jamborees, taking underpriviledged kids to educational or recreational areas, and certain shipper specials. After it's 1982 rebuilding, it was transferred from a MofW number to the Business car fleet as BNA-13, it's disposition is unknown at this time.
